It’s been a minute.
These past few years a time warp.
My last blog post in early 2020.
“Back then,” I relaunched the company website, I reaffirmed our business ethos, and I had a clear vision for what we were to embark on next.
and then… enter a global pandemic, along with social, political challenges escalating as never before (at least in my lifetime), and new daunting hurdles to navigate in the world of independent filmmaking.

Nonetheless, we pressed on. We’ve plugged away behind the scenes devoting countless hours and headaches to get three projects off the ground and into or thru production. Searching for viable financing, finessing presentation decks to version 15!, reading scripts, reworking budgets, unearthing themes and issues of relevance, crafting theories of change, making sense of the altered film landscape and precarious marketplace, Zoom upon Zoom, and navigating a boatload of human dynamics. Needless to say, each project has been a miracle!
So, while we are in production on LILLY and RING OF FIRE: The Life of Annie Mae Aquash, and in post on VIVA VERDI!, I thought I’d drop a few words here on our blog to say we are still here and hanging tight. For Impact Productions continue to push forward… to bring forth new perspectives, new ways of thinking about society and humanity, and to inspire social change through visual storytelling.
To all my fellow Indies and Advocates, keep on keepin’ on. We’ve got more needles to move, minds to expand, and policies to make more impactful. Our stories are a must to birth into the world. A better future depends on it!
See y’all in 2023!!
